Where to base yourself
Pick one anchor and accept a little driving. Doonbeg suits the headline round on your doorstep; Kilrush works if you want the Killimer ferry corridor and Kilrush Golf Club as your sensible second day; Lahinch or Spanish Point fit if you prefer the northern end of the run. Fly into Shannon Airport, collect a car and head west. From Shannon to Lahinch is roughly 50 km and about 40–45 minutes by road — see getting around for route notes. If you land late, skip golf and eat near your base: Lahinch has Vaughan's on the Prom and Flanagan's; in Doonbeg, Morrissey's is the village choice.

Spanish Point to Doonbeg is about 32 km on the N67 — allow roughly 30 minutes. That is the spine of west Clare golf.
Sunday — contrast and home
Play Spanish Point in the morning if you stayed north — a compact nine-hole links beside the Atlantic, playable as eighteen. Or take Kilrush if you want parkland and a fraction of the green fee. Kilrush to Doonbeg is about 25–30 minutes by car.
With an afternoon free, Kilkee cliff walk or Loop Head lighthouse fits between Kilrush and the peninsula — allow 40+ minutes from Kilrush to the lighthouse car park.
